Join me and Michaela in supporting Camp ASCCA. Let's make a difference together. Help us help send children and adults with disabilities to summer camp.

Camp ASCCA stands for Alabama Special Camp for Children and Adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. I have been attending Camp Mobile Rotary at Camp ASCCA since 1988. First heard about it when WLPR-FM 96.1 played a classic beautiful music/easy listening format in Mobile, AL from 1964-87, with the studio was located on the 12th floor of the First National Bank Building (now Trustmark Bank Building) in Downtown Mobile, now 96.1 The Rocket. And also, those Camp ASCCA Applications we're being picked up at participating Delchamps Supermarkets, in the ASCCA area and it closed in 2001. ASCCA offers lots of activities, like nature, zipline, demo farm, horseback riding, karaoke, waterslide, tubing, talent show, dance, concerts and so much more.

For Michaela, it has been a life experience to see all the campers smiles, tears and laughter. This would be Michaela's third year as a Summer Staff Member at Camp ASCCA. Her grandfather, Dr. Glenn Roswal, is one of those Board of Directors at Camp ASCCA. After 45 years, the COVID-19 Pandemic had to operate at limited capacity. And for Summer 2022, Mobile Rotary campers will have to go on to another chapter for now by attending actual Camp ASCCA.

This year we are participating in the annual Jingle Jump that will take place during Camp's Christmas Weekend on December 11th and I will be virtually while Michaela will jump into the cold pool face to face. We will be participating in the Jingle Jump virtually and face to face, if we achieve our goal! We are hoping to raise enough money to help a Mobile Rotary Camper, including myself, attend the actual Camp ASCCA with a limited capacity for now. Instead of giving your money to Alabama Public Television, Mississippi Public Broadcasting, Georgia Public Broadcasting, Louisiana Public Broadcasting, WYES PBS in New Orleans, WSRE PBS for the Gulf Coast in Pensacola, please help me reach my goal!

A donation of any size will go a long way to helping me meet my goal for Camp ASCCA.

Your donation will help continue to make attending Camp ASCCA possible for these individuals with disabilities. Thank you so much in advance, and I hope that you and yours have a wonderful holiday season. We are doing this in a beloved memory of the Mobile Rotary Camper, Freddie Varnes.

P.S. If you know of anyone who would want to donate as well, please feel free to forward this link!
